Radish-Tomato Salad

This salad is so easy to prepare. First, roast the tomatoes then let it cool down. Grate the radishes. If the tomato is cool enough, peel the skin and mix it with some chopped onions. Mix 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp salt, and ¼ cup of calamansi juice. Add the tomato and grated radish. Mix altogether lightly. It is best to serve this cold.
Eggplant Salad
Eggplant is a high-fiber vegetable. Eating this vegetable has been proven to reduce the risk of any cancerous diseases. It is also good for people who are trying to lose some extra weight. And, since this vegetable is watery it will also help you to have a better skin tone. So, if you look haggard due to the stress and anxiety that surrounds you try to eat the Eggplant salad or “Ensaladang Talong” as Filipino people call it.
First, grill the eggplant until it is blackened. Cool it down for a moment then peel the eggplant skin. Mix, chopped tomatoes, medium sized chili, 2 tbsp of soy sauce, vinegar, salt, lemon, black pepper and onions altogether. Lastly, add your skinned eggplant with the mixed ingredients. You can also serve it together with roasted vegetables or grilled fish.
Pinoy Apple Salad
Apple is good for your health. Some studies reveal that eating apple can slowdown the symptoms of aging and can also prevent you from suffering Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. Apple is rich with antioxidants, and is also called as brain food for it contains nutrients that improve cognitive functioning. Thus, your brain becomes more capable of coping with the causes of stress. Now, go ahead and try eating apple with a Pinoy twist.
In preparing Pinoy Apple Salad, the first thing that you are going to do is to mix calamansi juice and evaporated milk together. Add condense milk. Then, cut apples into bite sizes and mix it with celery in a separate tray. Blend the milk mixture together with the apples and celery. Lastly, let it chill before serving your Pinoy apple salad.
Pickled Mangoes
Pickled mangoes are very well-known to Filipinos because mango is Philippine’s National Fruit. It tastes good and can be a very good source of vitamins such as A, B and C. It is also rich in minerals like potassium, iron and calcium. Eating pickled mangoes are good for hypertensive people to replenish their energy after any physical and stressful activities they had. Green Mangoes are also proven to be effective in reducing your cholesterol levels. With all these health benefits, guess you already want to know how to make pickled mangoes, right? Here’s how:
First, cut some green mangoes into strips. Throw away the seeds, then place all the mango strips in a glass jar. Add 1 tbsp of salt and water. Pickled mangoes are ready to be served within 3 or 4 days.
